3 in 1, simple way to explain mind body and soul.

They say that everyman goes through a Mid-Life Crisis, well I tend to agree. However, I did not go through the new car, an affair, the change in style/fashion, the new hobby etc.. I have been given a Mental Health diagnosis.  Yes, I had a couple of "acute stress episodes" (formally they used to be called 'a breakdown'), following a dark period in my life, over a couple of years, I have been diagnosed with Endogenous Depression.  So being in my 40s and having attempted suicide, you could say it was a true crisis, in my mid-life.  However, was it, is it, will it be?  I have begun to question myself, who I am, what have I achieved, what am I, what am I going to do, what is my purpose?  At this point I am not going to be discussing my full personal journey, or be to detailed about me, my past, or current state.  However, my personal and professional experiences have drawn me to my current conclusions and hypothesis of the Tripartite me. Some people may not know the term

The Why me? question. Will make you think. mind body and soul. part 2

I left part 1, with us looking at and considering the inner self, and more importantly how this can help us with the "why me?" question. For many people the focus on the "why me" can be part of a contributing factor to a mental health issue, or even an individual with a mental health issue can then become compelled, or more easily drawn to the negativity of that question.  Interestingly, mental health issues are rarely caused by extrinsic factors such as status, lack of wealth, power or possessions etc.  Yes some of those factors do contribute to mental health issues, I know this myself having endogenous depression.  However, those factors in themselves do not 'cause' mental health issues, but rather contribute to the way we handle our mental health. After all, even if one's mental health is good, as lack of money when needed etc can cause temporary stresses/anxiety.  However, most healthcare professionals, and I fall into that category, will say that

The simple way of thinking about Self Love versus Loving Self?

Image
In this modern world of Self, individualism, self isolation, selfies, and #selflove etc, are there any differences?  I propose that there are.  Many individuals on Twitter for example, will frequently post about #selflove .  But what does that mean? Is it a term for giving oneself love, telling oneself "I am beautiful" "I am worthy" " I am loved..." "I am strong.." or any of the many other mantras people will use.  Is it taking a glam selfie, with or without the filters, the running a candlelit bath, that quiet walk alone out of the home office, away from the partner or kids etc..….  Or is self love, in reality a glib phrase used to help us just feel a bit better in the moment?  On the other hand, what about loving oneself?  Is it just semantics really? Some lesser educated individuals would say that  they are one in the same, and that self love is the same as loving oneself, and we are just splitting hairs or playing with semantics.  Howe
